V
I did not expect such a great guitar
Vas12 27.09.2017
I have been looking at video of people playing this guitar and it sounded amazing. I always assumed its just enhanced. I decided to buy this guitar. It is amazing. It offers a very rich low, mid and high range sound. Its very playable and also very practical to carry around as it is the smallest body the Takamine brand offers. It has a classical guitar style head stock and a bridge with no pins, it truly offers a bit more sustain, however my concern is that once amplified this will create a lot of feedback. Even so, this guitar is definitely worth the money. Amazing craftsmanship.

One of the most reasonably-priced and accessible distributors online with excellent service, Thomann has really impressed me. The item was packed relatively well, the hardcase has some nicks in the exterior but I don't mind much since it definitely did its job as the guitar inside was in excellent condition!

Out of the case, I was surprised with the craftsmanship and playability of the P3NY as is -- a testament to Takamine Japan's quality control. This has been my dream guitar on paper for some time, and I was hesitant to get one sight unseen, but all the online reviews seem to be consistent and accurate with the praises. Looks beautiful with its understated features (the devil is in the details) and the neck is comfortably thick and still v easy to fret with. The sound is warm but not boxy, v touch sensitive and can be bright if you need with a pick, it's mid-forward but still lots of clarity across the strings (the audio clips on Thomann are good samples).

Overall, it's been hard putting it down! Really pretty hardcase too, it's a joy to store and bring out the guitar. The P3NY is perfect for bedroom playing and for recording, but its pickup is v versatile and would cover gigging needs as well. Amazing value for money; this one is a keeper that'll be a lifelong companion and inspiration!

Ap
Simply the best! Small body big sound!

Got Takamine P3NY a months ago. The Taka is amazing and comfy instrument to play! If I decide to buy another acoustic I would go with Takamine made in Japan again and again!

- factory setup is good. However, string action is a bit too high;
- Made in Japan. I like it!
- Japanese Taka’s quality control is very high level. Respect!
- comfy neck and body shape. The neck is close to Gibson’s slim taper. However, Taka’s neck is asymmetrical, so nice!
- small body but BIG SOUND!
- it sounds amazing on its own and plugged in too;
- very comfortable body shape. It is a good choice for electric guitar players. It is an easy playing instrument;
- on board preamp is high level. Tuner is good. Easy to replace a 9V battery;
- case is weak side of Taka.

I was choosing between P3NY and CP3NYK. Decided to go with P3NY due to 14th fret joint and more narrow neck (electric guitars players will find it comfy). Good instrument for strumming and fingerstyle. Amazing quality to price ratio. I strongly recommend P3NY!

P.s. additional note after 7 months of playing it. Would be nice to have rolled edges on the neck.
