The sound unplugged is good enough for coffee at dawn on the deck and the myriad of tones from the piezo and lipstick coil either blended or separate is clear without the mud. It stays in tune well and the finish is far better than the internet samples. A work of art with only two very minor quibbles. The lipstick PU is not exactly "square" with the routed hole in the top. 99% of folks would not notice it. The other is the lack of highlighted index marks on the controls. Fixed with some acrylic paint in the hard to see indexing marks. A screamin' deal with excellent tone and playability.
