The Get Right Band - Hell Yes Refresh
Hell Yes Refresh is the latest single from psych-rock trio The Get Right Band that will take you to new heights of musical ecstasy. Taken from their forthcoming LP iTOPIA due for release on April 7, Hell Yes Refresh is an intoxicating blend of addictive synth-fueled tunes, radiant vocals, and thought-provoking lyrics that explore the human obsession with technology, the constant need to refresh our screens and connect with like-minded individuals in the online realm, and how this has become a fundamental part of our lives.
The band's frontman Silas Durocher explains: In the context of the full album, 'Hell Yes Refresh' is about finding your tribe online, finding love online, finding connection online, and that techno-utopianism leaning toward the obsession most of us have with our screens and our online lives…the constant need to refresh your app and see what new things are happening. The whole song is also meant to work as a single outside of the technology context, as a song about relationships, the feeling of obsession that comes with falling in love"

But this song is also a way for me to express my conflicted feelings about the algorithmic world that is rearranging our lives. It seems to steal my soul at times, and I need it back.”

Dumpster Gold is a heartfelt storytelling masterclass that serves as an ode to Lightburn's father who passed away. Α cathartic release of feelings that have been suppressed for far too long, as Lightburn reflects on their relationship: "He was almost a complete stranger to me. I could almost count the conversations we had, and none of them were very meaningful. I had to deduce that our happy moments were listening to Expos games together. I never knew how he felt about my career or the things I’d achieved—all of which I got from him"
Lightburn's tender and emotional vocal delivery effortlessly glide over the soulful instrumentals, creating something truly unique that builds to a climax of both feeling and musical excellence.
