The Miraculous Love Kids ft. Blake Shelton, Joe Walsh - I Won’t Back Down

Article photo - SONGS WE LOVED! 13-19 March 2023

The Miraculous Love Kids, a non-profit organization that served as Afghanistan's only school of music for girls and young women, faced an uncertain future when the Taliban took over. Despite the tremendous challenges they faced, they fled to Pakistan with the help of Lanny Cordola, the group’s American founder and director. Even though they were refugees in a country that was also struggling with social unrest, political upheaval, and economic instability, they wouldn't back down in their quest for freedom, prosperity, and happiness.

Their determination to continue making music and pursue a better life is awe-inspiring. To show their commitment to never giving up, they recorded a version of Tom Petty's I Won't Back Down with the support of American country music singer Blake Shelton and three members of the distinguished ROCK & ROLL HALL OF FAME: Joe Walsh, Timothy B. Schmit, and Matt Sorum.

The story of The Miraculous Love Kids and their journey to safety and freedom serves as a beacon of light in a world that can often feel dark and overwhelming and inspires us all to keep pushing forward in our own quests for justice, equality, and peace. The Miraculous Love Kids are a true testament to the transformative power of music to heal, unite, and inspire us all.

The Noise Who Runs - Beautiful Perhaps

Article photo - SONGS WE LOVED! 13-19 March 2023

Beautiful Perhaps is an honest and raw reflection of the state of society and humanity and serves as a powerful introduction to electronic rock duo The Noise Who Runs' forthcoming album Preteretrospective due for release on April 7. Featuring a sublime blend of shimmering indie grooves, and textured vocals that perfectly complement the thought-provoking lyrics, Beautiful Perhaps speaks to themes of social commentary and the search for truth in a world that is often brutal and cynical.

"There’s a reason that 'Beautiful Perhaps' is the first single and also the first song on the album. It sets the tone for everything The Noise Who Runs is about," says Ian Pickering, "My truth, that’s got nothing to do with anything. People need to stop selling their truth, their subjective complaints and petty outrages. First and foremost, I was a journalist, therefore, I deal in facts and I think as a general overview of the state of society and of humanity (not just this century but eternally) - this is as honest as you’re gonna get. And it hits the nail squarely and firmly on the head. The truth isn’t pretty but it has to be accepted before anything I describe in the song can be addressed. That’s what’s beautiful - perhaps."reflection on society and humanity
