Howling Bells - Melbourne

A tender ache wrapped in hypnotic indie rock. Soft guitar textures and steady rhythm support Juanita Stein's emotive vocals, carrying both longing and grief. Inspired by absence and homecoming, it's spacious, cinematic, and powerful - the final taste before Strange Life lands on February 13.

Dead Chic - The Bells and the Fists
A dark, ritualistic storm of a track. The guitars scrape and rumble while the rhythm pounds like footsteps in a subterranean hall. Vocals carry a taut intensity, ready to burst, mirroring the band's chaos. A clear shift forward from Serenades and Damnation, and an intriguing glimpse of where Dead Chic are heading next.

THE DARTS - Midnight Creep

Fuzzy guitars, pulsing organ lines, and a tight, swinging beat make this one instantly fun. The groove is simple and infectious, built to get bodies moving without overthinking it. As the first taste of Halloween Love Songs, out March 3, it sets the mood perfectly: playful, spooky, and full of personality.

Keegan Powell - Too Hard

This feels like opening too many tabs in your head at once and trying to dance through it anyway. The guitars are bright and restless, sugary at the edges but with real teeth, and the chorus rushes forward like it's outrunning something.
A nervous joy runs in it; that moment when overwhelm turns into motion instead of silence. It sounds like modern life with the volume turned up, chaotic but strangely alive.

MYLO BYBEE - I Wish You Well

There's wide open air inside I Wish You Well, like standing somewhere remote where the wind has room to think. The guitars feel sweeping and patient, carrying that push-and-pull between calm and intensity that the band talks about.
You can almost see the Alaskan landscapes that shaped it - beautiful, a little lonely, a little holy. From the upcoming Revisions EP (out February 20th), I Wish You Well looks backward gently, without closing any doors.

afterhourless - Coriolis, Centrifugal Love
The song drifts in like warm rain on an empty street. Guitars melt into a soft haze and the vocals hover gently above them, more like a memory than a declaration.
From the EP No Friends at Dusk, it carries that solitary, late-hour feeling Rafael Panke talks about; a one-person world built out of reverb and patience. Quiet, inward, and strangely comforting.

Phantom Wave - Breakaway
Breakaway builds on a steady pulse, layering fuzzed guitars without losing clarity or movement. The rhythm section keeps things grounded while the guitars swell and recede in waves. It's shoegaze that knows when to hold back, letting the dynamics breathe instead of piling everything on at once.

Zara Chantelle - Good Man

Bright, infectious pop-rock with a heart in every chord. Guitar riffs and driving drums carry the joy of finally finding someone who treats you right, while Zara's voice sparkles with relief and excitement. It’s energetic and empowering - a personal anthem for anyone escaping past toxicity.

Six Going On Seven - National Sin

A patient, reflective indie rock track that feels lived-in. Guitar lines and restrained percussion hold space for the vocals, which convey reflection, reckoning, and bittersweet memory. From Human Tears, it's honest, emotionally layered, and a reminder that returning after decades can be as complex as it is rewarding.

Red Arrow Highway - Not the End

Classic-tinged alt-rock with a restless heart. Punchy guitar riffs and driving drums carry an open-road energy, while the melodies carry a mix of hope and reflection. From Be Someone Better (March 20th), it’s energetic, thoughtful, and effortlessly melodic - the band's love letter to perseverance and sound friendship.
