Dreamhouse by the Ocean: An Ambient Music Collection

Please consider giving the playlist a follow - it is updated regularly with the best ambient music!

This edition features: a Frutiger Aero piece that takes place in a futuristic campus that feels like being inside an Apple G3 computer.; an ambient song that will transport you to a shimmering purple lake within your subconscious; an incandescent soundscape that will add a whole new layer of magic to your summer evenings; a song that will make you feel like you are sitting in a room within your memory, wind chimes shimmering through an open window somewhere in the distance; an ambient piece with whose main instruments sound like they are being generated by the petals of a fuchsia flower at the bottom of the garden; a soundscape that gives the effect of it being buried under layers upon layers of dust and more!

Emily A. Sprague - Sing To

Article photo - Dreamhouse by the Ocean: Best New Ambient Music - July 2026

This is taken from the upcoming album ‘Cyano’ (which will be released October 2nd, 2026).

Emily A. Sprague is a florist/synthesist from the Catskill Mountains - a place I am familiar with as a result of my favourite episode of ‘Girls5Eva’ taking place in a cabin there (I am still so angry that the show was cancelled).

‘Sing To’ is exquisite and slightly odd; the botanical twinkling textures sound like they are being generated by the petals of some fuchsia flowers at the bottom of the garden. The vocals sound like they are coming to your ears from an unknown source in a body of water. Magical.

Synthesized Simurgh - A liminal ambient mix for an empty station

I came across this on YouTube, being drawn in by the wintery pixel-art style visuals. I will be using this on a dark autumn or winter's night here in Ireland, perhaps an evening when I am travelling and waiting at the train or bus station. I feel like a book by Lemony Snicket would be the perfect companion for this? The piece itself is heavenly, with an icy chill running throughout, like the bitterly cold air that rushes in every time someone comes in through the automatic doors at a train/bus station. This is a song to listen to when a quiet hush falls upon urban structures, and you can take in your surroundings more clearly. The sound of seagulls bursts in every so often, giving the feeling of warmer times being ahead, giving you hope in the depths of Winter.

Crystal Campus - Frutiger Aero Ambience

I am not the only person who loves the feeling of going back to school or college, where fresh new pastures lie ahead.  Luckily, ‘Crystal Campus’ is here to serve all your learning needs; a futuristic campus that feels like being inside an Apple G3 computer. This is an audiovisual experience, taking place under the azure blue skies of hope. I found this to be deeply soothing; the soundscape saturated with a deep cerulean blue, with bursts of shimmering glitter every so often.

Immersing yourself within this world will make you feel optimistic again and fill your heart with hope. The visuals are seriously impressive, being made by the artist using 3D software. The future is bright.

( E M P T Y R O O M S ) - haunted ceilings (alternate)

Article photo - Dreamhouse by the Ocean: Best New Ambient Music - July 2026

This reminds me of places where the laws of physics don't seem to apply; of eerie abandoned fast food places, of the cavernous interior of a shopping mall that no one has been inside since the 1980s.  The texture of the soundscape gives the effect of it being buried under layers upon layers of dust; something about the sound design signalling that it exists in a place whose architecture is by nature unsettling. ‘haunted ceilings (alternate)’ is sublimely liminal; also bearing the hallmarks of something more ancient, and therefore, more disquietening.

Quelche - Whispers

This is taken from the Italian composer Quelche’s (Simone Mencarelli) upcoming EP ‘Whispers in the Quiet’ (which will be out July 3rd via label Ambient Soundscapes).

‘Whispers’ coaxes the listener in slowly, its understated quality bewitching you, with a melancholy that evades description at the heart of it all.  It feels like it transports you to a shimmering purple lake within your subconscious, where something glitters just beneath the surface.

Spacecraft - Cassiopeia in View

This is a new release from Mumbai-based producer Spacecraft (Rishi Bhatia). This is a plush, incandescent soundscape, perfect for losing yourself within your imagination while looking up at the vast skies above you; ‘Cassiopeia in View’ will add a whole new layer of magic to your summer evenings. If you live somewhere where you can’t really see the stars at night, dissolve into the music video, or put on a night sky video on YouTube, put on your headphones, and away you go.

James Bernard - Eyes Closed

Article photo - Dreamhouse by the Ocean: Best New Ambient Music - July 2026

This is taken from the album ‘In A Small Room, Decades Ago’ (out via label Past Inside the Present).

‘Eyes Closed’ feels like it is traveling to your ears back through the sands of time. It sounds like sitting in a room within your memory, wind chimes shimmering through an open window somewhere in the distance.  This will allow you to take a quiet, meditative moment and to take in the wonders that lie within ambient electronic music.

Federica Deiana - Rinascita

Article photo - Dreamhouse by the Ocean: Best New Ambient Music - July 2026

This is taken from the Sardinia-based composer Federica Deiana’s album ‘Instant Light’ (out via label Home Normal). ‘Rinascita‘ is a soundscape that feels like it is a cold burst of misty mountain air, on a morning where the dewy grass glitters under the rising sun. The pads glow with light; the sound design and composition radiate life, allowing you to take a deep breath and be at peace.

variant - while the universe sleeps

Article photo - Dreamhouse by the Ocean: Best New Ambient Music - July 2026

This rises to greet you: a cavernous, magnificent soundscape, making you feel like you are entering the clouds of the nebulae.  This actually incorporated NASA’s sound archive, on which the artist says “the vast echoes of space have been manipulated and resynthesized throughout the duration of this sonic experience.” [via Bandcamp]. One of my favourite things about ambient music is how it is an experience of shared imagination; how you can be transported to a whole other realm, to places beyond a human’s capacity to travel to, just from the sheer power of good sound design and composition. I loved this.

Dmytro Faraday - Kiwai

Article photo - Dreamhouse by the Ocean: Best New Ambient Music - July 2026

This is from Ukrainian producer Dmytro Faraday; ‘Kiwai’ being a wonky soundscape, a dark land of oddities and strange sounds that whoosh past your ears. I really like how the sustained pads are at once beautiful and eerie, giving this the effect of being from a dimension where things are almost like here on Earth, but not quite. If you enjoy this, I recommend listening to the full album, which you can get via Bandcamp here

Noodle Therapy - The Dip

Article photo - Dreamhouse by the Ocean: Best New Ambient Music - July 2026

This is taken from the album ‘Field Notes’ by Noodle Therapy (Dan Porter). When I listened to ‘The Dip’, it made me think of arriving at a clearing in a magical forest in a fantasy landscape. There is something deeply enchanting at the core of the glittering world of ‘The Dip’; it is a tapestry of velvet textures, twinkling lagoons, and more, all of which will set your imagination and senses alight.
