I set out to unearth the Human Hand buried beneath the algorithmic rot of 2025 and see if we, the chosen ones, still have a Anthem for our collapse.

The Ritual Begins

2026 does not arrive in light, but in the shadow. While the world churns its synthetic sludge, we - the chosen - dig for a pulse beneath the algorithm. We are done with the synthetic parasite of AI-generated sludge. Only the raw, human pulse survives. Only music made with teeth, blood, and sweat.

The world is ending in the light, but in the dark, we are just getting started.

On one side, High-Energy EBM that will break your fucking ribs in a club. On the other: Ambient-Gothic EBM that sounds like a ghost trying to remember its name. This is the "funeral party" aesthetic. We feel the massive weight of global anxiety while we stand in the laundry room doing the washing. We are drowning in the mundane while the world burns, and only music made with raw human effort can keep us tethered.

For this inaugural edition of Dark Is A Music Genre I went into the abyss and brought back 25 tracks. These are not "safe" songs; they are music that bites back and demands your attention. Some will heal you. Some will destroy you. Some will do both. LISTEN. FEEL. SURVIVE

 January's Selection  Ductape - Gölgesiz

Turkey / Instagram

The heart of the ritual belongs to the shadow pulse of Ankara. Hypnotic. Dangerous. Silhouettes bend, the neon flickers, and for a moment, you feel the darkness breathe. If you only listen to one track this month, let it be Gölgesiz.

But the ritual is incomplete without the others. Keep on reading.

ghostbells - Immortal Lovers

USA / Instagram

ghostbells reduce everything to pulse and obsession on “Immortal Lovers.” Hypnotic, heavy, unrelenting. Rhythm is Law. Witness the burn.

Bragolin - I Run and Hide

Netherlands / Instagram

Edwin van der Velde treats motion as a principle. This Jan 2026 release is alert and forward-leaning. It measures the distance between the observer and the threat with scientific patience.

SRSQ - Born Alone, Die Alone

USA / Instagram

Kennedy Ashlyn’s voice is a bruise I can't stop pressing. This is darkened dreampop moving at the speed of a final breath. Loneliness is proof of a bond too vast.

Caput Medusae - Schwarzschild

Germany / Instagram

I watched them get swallowed by a black hole. They took the astrophysical concept of the Schwarzschild radius and turned it into an anthem for human collapse and intimacy. How close can we orbit before gravity wins? This is the point of no return.

The Black Veils - Gaslight!

Italy / Instagram

Bologna’s finest are throwing an apocalyptic funeral party and you are required to attend. It is sardonic, wounded post-punk designed for dancing while the political narratives deny the obvious. They sharpen their direct instincts while decisively drifting toward the cold electronics we crave.

Buzz Kull - Just A Memory

Australia / Instagram

Marc Dwyer delivers spastic synth lines and a streak of funk I didn't expect. This is Depeche Mode grit filtered through a 2026 gaze that refuses to loosen its grip on your throat. It slips through the transit arteries of the night like a frayed recollection.

Curtain - Fire

France / Instagram

Parisian architects of the night shaped in the early 2000s and still ferocious as hell. Reclaimed intensity that feels like it’s been waiting in a coat pocket, warm from the body, for twenty years. This return carries history and sets the stage on fucking fire.

Heimberg - Fragrance

France / Instagram

Post-punk from Strasbourg that sounds like a storm hitting a concrete wall. Airy guitars and remote, plaintive vocals set against a raw atmosphere of industrial acoustics. It creates a sound drowned in reverb that refuses to be background noise.

Years Of Shame - Heat

France / Instagram

Their debut is a visceral weight on the chest, written between Paris and Rennes. Expect sharp electronic edges and a heavy industrial sadness that stays with you like a ghost. This is primary choice music for the cold-hearted.

Soft Vein - Gray Space

Canada / Instagram

Spooky sonic confessionals from the North. Chamberlain blends Boy Harsher synths with Nitzer Ebb aggression to explore the shame and inadequacy we whisper in the dark. It is a dense wall of synth-fuzz for the soul.

Panic Priest - Wait for Night

USA / Instagram

Jack Armondo builds nocturnal anthems that are structurally firm yet sensually pliant. This is music for the hidden corridors of the night - a ritual of survival and surrender. It captures the endurance of the day and the allure of the darkness perfectly.

1003 - The Shapes

France / Instagram

An apocalypse from Marseille that abandons conventional song structures. Syncopated rhythms and deconstructed noise mirror the psychological turmoil of the lyrics. It’s an open structure that is never played the same way twice.

Lilii Mar - White Glow

Japan / Instagram

Tokyo gothic rock on a limited cassette - it doesn't get more niche or cold than this. Baroque drama and angular guitars create a shimmer that feels like Shinjuku neon burning through December snow. Hauntingly beautiful and absolutely cold.

Night in Athens - WITHR

UK/Greece / Instagram

A bleak coldwave transmission of loss and resignation from the heart of the underground. Built on emotional sequences that fuel a perfect nocturnal mood for early '26. I watch the fade pass me by and let it happen.

Suzi Sabotage - She-Demon

Finland / Instagram

The Finnish vampire is showing her teeth with this wrathful darkwave single. It is a visceral exploration of subculture roots and power that feels mandatory for our survival. A ritual of power that demands to be witnessed.

Daniel Knutz - Collapsing New People

Germany / Instagram

A 2026 darkwave reinterpretation of the Fad Gadget classic. It bridges the gap between the pressure points of 1983 and the neon shadows of our current reality with modern precision. Steer clear of the sun; the pancakes have no reflections.

undertheskin - Dance | Die

Poland / Instagram

Frozen synth lights and rhythmic bass lines from the Polish vanguard. High-energy darkwave that keeps the deathly atmosphere of the genre intact without sacrificing the beat. Witness the ritual of the dance and the end.

Jennifer Touch - Anthem

Germany / Instagram

Mid-tempo angst pop for that late-night restlessness we all share. Strong, confident vocals over crisp electronics that hit exactly where it hurts the most. A modern classic for those who crave the resonance of the real.

World, Interrupted - Shadows Of My Mind

Poland / Instagram

Ritualistic darkwave exploring the interior shadows of the human heart. Gothic soundscapes and ritual rhythms that are perfect for a heart that has been torn apart. Heartbreak in its most atmospheric audio form.

Die Wahrheit - Mein Herz Tanzt

Germany / Bandcamp

Angst pop from Dresden expanding into cold punk territory with obsessive energy. Driving drum programming and swirling synth tones that sound like a beautiful, dark fever dream. It is too strange to be ignored.

Black Rose Moves - Club of Sin

UK / Instagram

Birmingham gothic rock with shifty, angular guitar work that cuts through the night. A neon shimmer that feels like it was stolen from a Japanese noir film and brought to the UK. Step into the sin; it has been waiting for you.

Chemical Waves - The Door

Italy / Instagram

Marco Cattani explores the boundaries of the void with melodic melancholy. Haunting guest vocals from THE SPOILED create a door to the other side of reality. This is our love in a dying world captured in sound.

Vera Gloom - Hollow Mind

USA / Instagram

Texas EBM designed for the dancefloor of your darkest dreams. Penetratingly hypnotic vocals over a rumbling bass line that really gets inside your head. It explores the mental voids we all try to hide.

Cruelties - Make Us Bleed

USA / Instagram

Industrial synth-punk from Southern California that somehow feels like kindness in a fucking cruel world. Droning low ends and haunted baritone vocals make this pure ritual gold. It deploys industrial rhythmic grit to express the inexpressible.

The future we were promised is dead

Technology and modern life have failed to deliver. All that remains for us to do is the meticulous cataloging of a disappearing present. And while digital life gets more automated and controlled by AI-generated ghosts, the demand for REAL music that feels handmade is spiking.

People want music that feels heavy and emotionally resonant. People want music that takes effort to make and raw emotion to hear. They crave the ache of a soul that still has teeth. My mission is to give you a glimpse of the resonance that tears through the neon veil. WELCOME TO THE VOID. It has been waiting for you.
