Best in Punk - February 2025 Edition
February brought a chaotic mix of punk ferocity, metallic grit, and experimental madness to my playlist. From garage rock mischief to industrial nightmares and blistering thrash, this month’s releases hit hard and left a mark.
Featuring Real Sickies, ERRTH, Regal Foul, Brady’s Grownup Time, No Concept, Buster Sales, Quit Everything, and The God Bombs.

Here are the tracks that stuck with me, made me hit repeat, and, in some cases, rattled my brain in the best way possible.

Triage - Real Sickies
Edmonton's Real Sickies have done it again with their new single Triage, giving us a taste of what's to come on their upcoming album Under a Plastic Bag.
This track is everything you'd want from a modern punk anthem – catchy hooks, gritty guitars, and a rhythm section that drives the whole thing forward like a freight train.
With influences ranging from The Ramones to DEVO, Triage is a nod to punk's golden eras while keeping its feet firmly planted in the now. No surprise that Billie Joe Armstrong is a fan.
If you haven't checked this one out yet, do yourself a favor.

New Orleans - ERRTH
Philadelphia's ERRTH brings their own brand of raw emotion and energy with New Orleans, a single from their upcoming self-titled debut album coming in March.
The track blends 90s melodic punk vibes with a fresh, modern twist, so it feels both familiar and new. The dual vocals from Eric Saylor and Kevin Day are impressive in creating a conversation that pulls you into the chaos and beauty of their sound.
ERRTH's commitment to their craft is clear, and if New Orleans is any indication, their album is going to be on repeat for a long time.

Night Owl - Regal Foul
Banff-based Regal Foul released an EP that’s as addictive as it is deep. Night Owl is an honest portrayal of addiction and its cyclical nature, mirrored perfectly by the other almost identical track Eyes on the Horizon.
If you’re familiar with the feeling of struggling with addiction, Mitch McCallum's lyrics may hit close to home on the endless loop of struggle and support that defines addiction.
Regal Foul's sound is gritty and unpolished in the best way possible, making Night Owl feel like a late-night conversation with a friend who's seen it all.
It's punk with a purpose, and it deserves your attention.

I'm a M3ss (Guitarbage Remix) - Brady’s Grownup Time
Brady’s Grownup Time is that one-man-band punk garage act that feels like one of those sweaty basement shows where the PA barely works but the energy is pure chaos.
I’m a M3ss (Guitarbage Remix) takes the already fuzz-drenched sound and kicks it up with a jagged, lo-fi guitar line that buzzes like a broken amp barely holding it together.
Brady’s own brand of budget rock and garage punk oozes that ‘60s DIY grit with a wink and a smirk, making you feel at the front row.
It’s loud, it’s dirty, and it’s perfect for anyone who lives for stripped-down, no-frills punk.

Spokane - No Concept
No Concept’s Spokane is the punk equivalent of a road trip through the desolate highways of the Wild West, with a dash of outlaw spirit and enough grit to chew on.
The band’s fusing folk punk storytelling with psychedelics brings some serious cowpunk vibes. Kal and Kade Young’s songwriting balances infectious energy with vivid, cinematic imagery.
Spokane hits like a dusty dive bar anthem, with a faint smell of spilled whiskey, telling the tale of searching for identity in a world that doesn’t quite fit.
No Concept brings a refreshing twist to punk, blending genres without losing that essential ‘fuck it, let’s play loud’ attitude I so adore!

Tropical Stuffed Animals - buster sales
At just 17, buster sales delivers Tropical Stuffed Animals, a genre-bending mix of punk, experimental rock, and post-punk grit.
It’s got a bedroom-recorded charm that echoes early Wipers or Sonic Youth demos, with flashes of nu-metal aggression simmering beneath the surface.
I picked this one for my fondness for buster’s youthful energy and willingness to push boundaries. I also think this track shows us an exciting glimpse into punk’s evolving future!

Radical With You - Quit Everything
Quit Everything’s Radical With You feels like a love letter to skate punk's golden days and heartache with half pipes. The references to Fulfill the Dream and Legbone shows pull me right into my own teenage angst.
Quit Everything channels that classic NOFX and Dear Landlord energy, but with their own messy charm. It’s catchy, honest, and perfectly rough around the edges – exactly what I need when I'm spiraling through old memories.

Godhead - The God Bombs
Introducing a visceral punch of industrial punk madness called Godhead, a single from The God Bombs’ upcoming album, G Ω D H E A D.
Justin Symbol’s gritty vocals and ferocious beats feel like a descent into a neon-lit underworld. The rawness and nihilism remind me of old-school Nine Inch Nails but with a more modern, chaotic flair.
Godhead is haunting, intense, and uncomfortably personal, and I’m here for every second of it.
