Fabulous Instrument
Stan Rivera 18.04.2017
When it arrived, it had not been oiled before dispatch, and I had to take it apart, including stuck valves, before I could use it.

However, when I did start playing, It was like a dream instrument. Silky smooth sound, as near perfectly in tune as I've ever found on a trumpet. The large bore gives it an amazing dynamic range. A little bit difficult to slot at the top end, but you would expect that from an instrument that has a more conical bell than usual trumpets. If you want a lead instrument, don't get this, but it's perfect for jazz. It's a copy of the Martin Committee, but without the worn-out valves and vintage price-tag!

Poor craftsmanship
Martinagge 09.06.2018
I received this trumpet with high expectations, only to be disappointed.
3rd valve hanging no matter how much oil I applied.
Welding/soldering of tubing was not smoothed everywhere before lacquer was applied.
Button of 1st valve had a defect when inlay was made.
Slots really poorly in the high register above A above the staff.
Not a all what I would expect from a professional trumpet at this price. Adams must have poor quality control on their instruments...
Will return it.

Several months later:
After returning the first Adams A9, I bought an identical trumpet from another shop. This second Adams A9 was much better in every aspect mentioned above. This is now my favourite trumpet.
This conformed my belief that I had received a "monday model" from Thomann (Adams appear not to have rigid quality control, and Thoman appear not to check the trumpets before sending them to customers). On the other hand Thomann does take products back with full refund, no discussion, and postage paid. :-)
